GoB Education Sector Professionals

A select number of scholarships will be given to education sector professionals in the Government of Bangladesh.

The Sixth Five Year Plan, National Education Policy and Education For All National Action Plan highlight the education policy priorities of the Government of Bangladesh. In pursuit of national primary education goals, the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education (MoPME) will benefit from increased skills in (i) education data analysis and usage, (ii) learning assessment methods and approaches to improve learning, and (iii) targeted education programming to address issues of equity, disparity and disability.  MoPME is implementing a number of innovative strategies to improve the quality of learning in Bangladesh’s primary school classrooms, including the professionalisation of primary school teachers through a Diploma in Primary Education and a pilot to promote ‘active’ learning called Each Child Learns. The Government of Bangladesh is committed to ensuring that no child is left behind, and further opportunities for students out of school to access non-formal education are to be provided through strengthened Government-Non Government Organisation partnerships. School and Upazila level planning is being strengthened, with the aim of improving accountability for and participation in education at local level.  As such efforts are advanced, the need for rigorous evidence of what works, as well as the need to be able to understand and address the complex issues of learning and disparity will become increasingly relevant. Preference will therefore be given to candidates with a background in the primary education sub-sector, who aim to contribute to a future education system in Bangladesh that is high quality and inclusive. Bangladesh Civil Service cadre officials are eligible only; however a select number of non-BCS first class officials from MoPME and those from the Public Service Commission deployed in primary education service delivery will be eligible to apply.
